Basic Photoaging Prevention

Photoaging is not a new concept. This refers to what happens to the skin with too much exposure to the sun. When skin is exposed to excessive UV radiation from the sun, it can become leathery and wrinkled, as well as develop saggy areas and folds. Other results are freckles and those small wart-like bumps called keratosis. The most extreme result of photoaging is skin cancer. People with fair skin, light hair, and blue eyes are more susceptible to photoaging because their skin has less pigmentation, called melanin.

Swine Influenza, or H1N1, remains in the headlines as more cases are being reported across the globe. In the U.S. alone, fifty-plus cases have been confirmed on a weekly basis since the outbreak in mid-April 2009. Although government officials have been able to contain the panic that is customary in outbreaks such as these, it’s hard to remain indifferent to the possibilities of mutations, pandemics and deaths within our American borders.

Vaginal Yeast Infection Symptoms

Yeast, also called Candida, is always present on the body, especially in warm, moist places such as the mouth or vagina. A yeast infection occurs when the normal levels of yeast are increased. This can happen when taking antibiotics that kill all the bacteria in the area. With the absence of beneficial bacteria, the yeast can multiply and invade the surrounding tissue, causing an infection.
